After leaving Munich, we went to Dachau Concentration Camp which is just outside Munich. We debated on whether to take the kids, but ultimately decided it was important for them to see it. It is a part of history which will never and should never be forgotten. We were careful especially with Mary King to keep her from seeing certain pictures. She got the concept without having to learn the heartbreaking, sickening details of what when on in these camps. Being here has made me really want to learn more about the details of how the Nazi regime came to power especially given that they were initially viewed by most Germans as a fringe, extremist group.
The pictures below are of Dachau Concentration Camp.
